Our client, an international company based in Geneva, is creating a new position for a
Senior Accountant / Team Leader Your responsibilities:
1. Participate to the accounting of the group financial companies.
- Hedge accounting: Understand the various hedging transactions made by Treasury dept, understand the flows in SAP; challenge the results booked in G/L coming from realized transactions and revaluations at month end; Contacts with treasury department.
- In House Bank accounting: Bring support to G/L team, improve the complex processes as the IHB is in the middle of complex transactions between other company affiliates.
- Finance accounting: Review the balance sheet and P&L in IFRS and statutory principles; Deferred and current tax calculations; Equity reconciliation. Follow and implement the changes in regulations (local and IFRS) Contact with the auditors
2. Supervise the reporting team of all Swiss and “small” entities
- Ensure that reported figures are accurate and correspond to the results shown in the various SAP ledgers for the companies already on SAP - Coordination with FI and CO teams to ensure a correct reporting - Control the results submitted by the “small companies” (outsourced accounting) and challenge these results
Skills and experience needed:
- Excellent knowledge in “financial/hedge” accounting (IFRS and statutory) - Good knowledge in tax accounting - Fluent in English - Excellent knowledge in Microsoft Office tools (Advanced excel for reporting tasks) - Good understanding of controlling activities - Quick- and open minded, team spirit - Stress resistant - Ability to manage people
